International Romani Film Festival
IROFF – the International Romani Film Festival – brings films from the Czech Republic and abroad to Prague, focusing on Romani stories, personalities, history and contemporary life. The programme includes fiction, documentary and animated films, Czech premieres, archival material and the festival’s own productions.
IROFF also features discussions and meetings with directors, filmmakers and film protagonists, as well as music and dance performances, exhibitions and other accompanying events.
The second edition of the festival will take place in Prague from 10 to 13 September 2026.
About the Organiser
IROFF is organised by Identity Prague, z. s., a Prague-based association active since 2016. Its work grew out of volunteer and community initiatives and has gradually expanded to include education, social and humanitarian assistance, work with children and young people, and cultural projects.
Identity Prague has long provided food and material assistance to families and individuals facing difficult circumstances. Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2022, the association became involved in supporting refugees arriving in Prague, including Roma families. Its staff and volunteers worked, among other places, at Prague Main Railway Station, the Regional Assistance Centre for Ukraine and the temporary accommodation site in Troja. This work was later followed by support with housing and employment, community activities and other services for families from Ukraine.
Education and work with the younger generation form an important part of the association’s activities. Identity Prague organises educational and leisure programmes, tutoring and support for children and young people preparing for further studies. Since 2021, the Roma dance ensemble Jagori has also operated under its auspices. In 2024, the association launched Romská Vize, a project focused on supporting the education of Roma children and young people.
In 2025, Identity Prague expanded its cultural activities with the launch of the International Romani Film Festival – IROFF. The festival adds a new dimension to the organisation’s existing work through film screenings, meetings with filmmakers, its own audiovisual productions and accompanying cultural programmes.
